valpolicella wine tasting
1.5 hours
Discovering the world of wine at first hand can be a fascinating experience that you will never forget, thanks to this 1 hour and 30 minute tour. An extraordinary journey through the history, nature, culture and taste of one of the best Italian Valpolicella wineries.

While admiring the breathtaking and unique landscape of this UNESCO World Heritage area, you will enjoy an authentic experience in an exceptional place. Guided by an expert, you will begin by walking through the outdoor area of the winery, surrounded by vineyards, where you will learn the characteristics of the territory, the wine’s life cycle and sustainable cultivation methods. The tour will then continue indoors, where you will discover the historic cellar, in which are still stored some antique wooden barrels.

During the experience, you will explore the techniques of winemaking, aging and preservation of the region’s celebrated wines, including Amarone, Ripasso and Valpolicella Classico. You will also uncover the secrets and traditions of a family-run winery that for generations has been dedicated to producing and offering wines of the highest quality. Step by step, you will be guided through the entire process—from cultivation and harvest to bottling. In this phase, every single detail is essential to achieve an exceptional product, and you will witness the meticulous care that these “artisans of taste” put into their work to create outstanding wines.

The highlight of the experience will be the tasting of four selected labels, including Valpolicella Superiore, Amarone, and Recioto, paired with typical local products such as artisanal cured meats, local cheese, rustic bread and a regional dessert. A complete sensory journey celebrating the identity of this unique territory and the excellence of Italian craftsmanship. Each product paired with the wine is a delightful rarity, enhanced by complementary flavors. The selection of gastronomic products is carefully refined, as each one comes from small local producers.

You will have the opportunity to explore the Valpolicella area comfortably seated in the tasting room, thanks to the sensory journey created by pairing the winery’s wines with typical Veronese specialties—in the meantime a sommelier will explain to you the distinctive features of these local excellences in depth.

You will discover sustainable, low-impact viticulture in vineyards cultivated according to tradition, as well as a historic and art-filled cellar that has integrated sustainable technologies and innovative concrete and ceramic tanks to produce wines with increasingly natural and balanced expression. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to discover the excellence that has made Valpolicella famous around the world.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Outdoor Tour of the Winery and Vineyards

In the first part of the experience, you will visit the outdoor area of the winery, which includes the adjacent vineyard. You will get up close to the fragrant vines that produce these remarkable wines. You can touch the beautiful berries intended to become precious nectar, walk on the fertile soil which is peculiar to this land, and immerse yourself in the green rustle of the leaves. An expert guide will explain in detail the cultivation methods, the practices to protect local flora and fauna and the organic techniques that shape Valpolicella’s fine labels.

Tour of the Historic Cellar and the Barrel Room

At a certain point of the visit, you will descend underground to admire the historic cellar, where everything has remained unchanged over time and where a unique atmosphere reigns. Here, wines still rest in wooden barriques. The tour then moves to the modern cellars, where you will discover the latest-generation ceramic and wooden vats which allow the creation of wines with increasingly complete flavors and aromatic profiles. Furthermore, the concrete and ceramic tanks make it possible to produce wines that are even more refined while maintaining a high level of sustainability.

Tasting of 4 Wines in the Wine Boutique

At the end of the tour, you will relax in the modern Wine Boutique and embark on a journey engaging all five senses with the tasting of four typical wines.

A professional will guide you in discovering the different labels. This explanation is essential to fully understand and appreciate the potential of Valpolicella wines—their characteristics, nuances and aromatic notes that unfold on the palate. You may taste a Valpolicella Superiore or an Amarone della Valpolicella Classico. The experience will be accompanied by local gastronomic delicacies such as zero-kilometer cured meats and cheese.

Famiglia Farina Amarone della Valpolicella Classico DOCG

One of the wines included in the tasting is the famous Amarone Famiglia. With its ruby-red color, it is dry and velvety on the palate, with an impressive balanced structure. Its alcohol content is significant but not overwhelming. From the very first sip, it will enchant your senses with cocoa and cherry aromas and also balsamic notes. It is a wine you will fall in love with— that will carry you deeper into your Valpolicella tasting experience.
