Montepulciano: Cellar Tour, Wine Tasting & Lunch
Far from the hustle and bustle of major cities lies an oasis of sustainability and cooperation. In the heart of Tuscany, near Montepulciano, you are invited to discover the authentic history and passion that breathe life into one of the most representative historic cooperatives in the area, where tradition and dedication are values shared by the 400 members who care for the land and its landscape every day.
Founded in 1937, it is Tuscany’s oldest cooperative, a beacon of sustainability where 400 members tend to the territory and its landscape daily.
We will welcome you into our wine cellar for a sensory journey that begins with a guided tour of the evocative underground cellars, a labyrinth of arches and niches that safeguard the local winemaking heritage. You will discover the secrets of aging and producing excellent wines, including the renowned Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG.
You can choose between two exclusive options to personalize your experience:
Tour with Wine Tasting: The Essence of Nobile
A one-and-a-half-hour experience focused on discovering and tasting the best products of the winery.
- Welcome at the Wine Cellar: where your journey begins, you’ll feel right at home.
- Guided Tour of the Historic Cellars: discover the passion and tradition passed down through generations.
- Guided Tasting: Taste the winery’s top wines, accompanied by traditional Tuscan ciaccino.
Light Lunch with Tour and Tasting: Authentic Tuscan Flavors
If you are looking for a complete experience that combines the guided tour and wine tasting with an authentic light lunch of typical Tuscan specialties, this is the perfect option for you.
- Welcome at the wine cellar: to make you feel immediately at ease and start the visit in the best way.
- Guided Tour of the Historic Cellars: an immersion into the area’s rich winemaking history and its nuances.
- Light Lunch: a light lunch paired with a selection of the winery’s wines.
Vegetarian options or alternatives for intolerances are available upon request and must be communicated at the time of booking.
What to Expect
Quality, Tradition, and History
Step into Tuscany’s oldest cooperative (since 1937), welcomed into a family atmosphere that blends taste and simplicity while celebrating the work of hundreds of local producers.
Exclusive Cellar Tour with an Expert
After the welcome, the tour moves inside the historic cellars. Here, guided by one of the producers or cooperative experts, you will see up close where the wine takes shape. The secrets of winemaking will be revealed to you, exploring the wine’s entire life cycle: from the delicate phases of fermentation to aging and final bottling.
Guided Tasting
The highlight of the visit is a guided tasting of four wines representative of the territory. You will learn to recognize the aromatic notes and unique flavors of the terroir. The wines will always be accompanied by Tuscan ciaccino (a delicious stuffed flatbread) produced by the winery.
A Tailored Experience
Depending on the option chosen during booking, your experience will transform. If you opt for the Light Lunch, the tasting will be paired with a rich menu of local specialties, such as a board of typical cheeses and cured meats, lasagna, and, for dessert, cantucci biscuits served with Vin Santo.
